
Eleftheria Markozani is an Assistant Professor in the Department of International and European Studies at the University of Piraeus. Since 2016, she has worked as a researcher on numerous EU-funded projects for the Laboratory of Educational Policy, Research, Development, and Interuniversity Cooperation in the same department. Until December 2025, she worked in the European Affairs Unit of the Directorate of European and International Cooperation at the Ministry of Migration and Asylum of Greece. She completed two Master's programmes at LSE and Institut National Universitaire Jean-François Champollion. In 2021, she was awarded her PhD by the Department of International and European Studies at the University of Piraeus, on the subject of “Differentiated Integration as a Political Management Tool”, under a scholarship from the State Scholarship Foundation. Among her publications is her monograph published by Lexington Publications (2024), titled “Differentiation and Politicization: The Case of EU Migration Policy”. Her teaching, research interests, and publications include EU migration policy, EU security policies, EU integration and policies, theories of EU integration, and aspects of differentiated integration.
