The department’s academic program, as it has been updated, offers courses in European studies, international relations, strategic studies, global governance, international politics, diplomacy, international conflict resolution and mediation, international law, international trade, international and European monetary policy and institutions, the study of international financial markets, European law, European policies, major global political and economic issues, the study of world regions, domestic political systems and foreign policy of countries, development aspects of the international economy, international environmental issues, international economics, management of international businesses and organizations, and new technologies.
The Department’s academic profile is distinctly interdisciplinary. It is balanced across its three core components: namely, international relations and international politics, international economics, and European studies. In addition to the interdisciplinary nature of its courses, the Department of International and European Studies offers students the opportunity to take courses from related academic departments within the same university.
