Georgios Galanos is an economist and Associate Professor of “Economic Policy and Competitiveness” at the Department of International and European Studies, University of Piraeus. He was born in Piraeus and studied economics at the University of Piraeus. He holds an MBA with a focus on Tourism Management and a PhD specializing in International Economics and Tourism Competitiveness. He is a member of the Academic Council of the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies.

He has participated in numerous international conferences and published extensively in scientific journals and collective volumes on topics including EMU, the Economic Crisis, the Governance Crisis in the Eurozone, and Foreign Direct Investment.

He has extensive experience in project management and consulting for the public and private sectors regarding the technical and administrative management and monitoring of development projects, as well as European and national programs. He possesses long-standing knowledge and experience in organizing and managing project teams.
His expertise covers the following scientific areas:
