Bio

Aikaterini Oikonomou is an Associate Professor in the field of “Strategy, Entrepreneurship & Competition” at the Department of International and European Studies, University of Piraeus. Additionally, she is a member of the Adjunct Academic Staff at the Hellenic Open University for the Module ‘Administration of Businesses and Organizations’ (DEO40).

She graduated from the Department of Business Administration and the Master’s Program in Business Administration – Total Quality Management (MBA in Total Quality Management) at the University of Piraeus. She holds a PhD in Business Administration from the University of Macedonia, with a doctoral thesis titled: “The Contribution of Accounting Information to Customer-Centric Strategies and CRM Systems: The Case of Greece.”

She has teaching experience at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the subjects of business organization and administration, entrepreneurship, strategy, and principles of regulation and competition. Since 2004, she has professional experience in private and public sector entities (Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Greece, Hellenic Competition Commission, Hellenic Single Public Procurement Authority). She has participated in organized research programs of Higher Education Institutions.

Her articles have been published in international scientific journals, and she actively participates with papers in scientific conferences.

Her research interests focus on the fields of business administration, entrepreneurship, business strategy, and competition.
