Dr. Andrew Liaropoulos is an Associate Professor in the Department of International and European Studies at the University of Piraeus, specializing in International Relations and Strategic Studies.
He graduated in 2000 from the Department of International and European Studies at Panteion University. He completed his postgraduate studies during the period 2001-2002 at the Department of International Politics at Aberystwyth University in Wales, focusing on Intelligence and Strategic Studies.
He received his PhD in 2006 from the Department of Politics and International Relations at Swansea University in Wales. His research interests include international security, strategy, intelligence, cybersecurity, European defense and security, and hybrid threats.
He also serves as a member of the Editorial Board of the scientific journals Journal of Information Warfare (JIW) and Journal of European and American Intelligence Studies (JEAIS), and as a researcher at the Research Institute for European and American Studies (RIEAS).
During the period 2015-2021, Dr. Liaropoulos served as Director of the “Information and Cybersecurity Laboratory” at the University of Piraeus. In 2024, he was appointed as a member of the Scientific Council of the Observatory for the Analysis of Hybrid Threats of the Ministry of Digital Governance.
