Our Department, the University’s newest, is now the most selective among similar departments
in Greece. Our undergraduate program is structured into clusters of courses based on three
academic disciplines: International Relations, International Political Economy, and International
Law.
We also offer four graduate programs: an MA in International and European Studies, an MSc in
Energy: Strategy, Law and Economics (in English), an MSc in American Studies: Politics, Strategy
and Economics (in English), and an MA in International and European Policies on Education,
Training and Research.
The Department of International and European Studies has also established ten research
laboratories that are open to external faculty members and encourage the participation of our
undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate students. The Department’s laboratories include
the Laboratory of Negotiation & Mediation, Laboratory of Education Policy, Research,
Development and Interuniversity Collaboration, Laboratory of International & European Policy-
Programme Development, Laboratory for the Study of BRICS, Laboratory of International &
European Policy, Turkish and Eurasian Studies Laboratory, Laboratory of the Eastern
Mediterranean, Middle and Major East: Politics, Economy, Culture, Laboratory of Strategic
Communication and Media, the Laboratory of Intelligence and Cybersecurity, and Energy and
Environmental Policy Laboratory.
The Department has established a Rhetoric Society and a Film Society, is an active participant
and strong supporter of the Erasmus program, regularly hosts ambassadors, decisionmakers,
and renowned academics, and actively promotes internship opportunities for our
undergraduate students.
We also place particular emphasis on coorganizing conferences abroad. In recent years, we
have collaborated with New York University, George Washington University, Johns Hopkins
University, BarIlan University, and Jawaharlal Nehru University for conferences held in New
York, Washington, D.C., Tel Aviv, and New Delhi. Our current focus is on developing
collaborative ventures and agreements with international academic institutions.
